The members of the San Diego Division of the California Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) invite you to the Omni San Diego Hotel, located in the Historic Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, August 31st through September 4th, for the 2009 Advanced Trainer. We have an outstanding selection of training topics planned to enhance executive and management development. In addition to being “America’s Finest City,” San Diego is proud to be called a “military” town. This year’s Advanced Trainer will pay tribute to the men and women of our armed forces, the greatest in history.

Highlights of the 2009 Advanced Trainer will include:

  • The President’s Reception on the bow of the historic U.S.S Midway Aircraft Carrier, which is docked on San Diego’s Bayfront only a few blocks from the Omni.
  • A Hosted Lunch and Fraud Prevention presentation by Frank Abagnale of “Catch Me If You Can” fame.
  • A presentation from FBI ASAC George Piro (formerly of Modesto PD) about his 7-month Interrogation of Saddam Hussein.
  • Tribute to the Military Banquet will feature a presentation by the famous Charlie Plumb, a former POW who was awarded numerous medals (including the Silver Star) and is currently a highly-sought inspirational speaker (Good Morning America, Nightline, Larry King, etc.)

New training presentations, including:

  • “Law Enforcement Leadership: Generational Considerations,” a “standing-room-only” presentation at the 2008 IACP by SDPD Captain Sarah Creighton and Lieutenant Chuck Kaye.
  • “Legal Survival for Law Enforcement Managers” by Elliot Spector, who is a highly-regarded speaker at the FBI Academy.
  • “Border Violence/Kidnappings” and “Social Networking Sites” presentations.

Additional Events:

  • A social outing/buffet dinner atop PETCO Park’s Western Metal Supply Building for a baseball game, San Diego Padres vs. Washington Nationals (Additional fee).
  • Golf adjacent to the beaches of Coronado (Additional fee).
  • All the fine restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment the surrounding Historic Gaslamp Quarter has to offer.
  • Nightly Hospitality Suites for liaison and camaraderie.
